- Born Sept 21 1896 in Appleton Wisconsin as Irene Reimer in a family with 5 sisters and 2 brothers. But, the family soon moved to Neenah, WI
- She's lived in Oregon, and several California cities but
came to Cambrian Center as one of its first residents in 1981
- At 86 years her son-in-law took her for a ride in his
glider.
- At 100 years she still doesn't wear glasses.
- Irene is very active giving piano lessons at Cambrian Center and is an accomplished organiist but her first love was her professional singing career in many churches.
- Oh, and she was a founding member of the Cambrian Center
Kazoo Band
- In 1993 Irene wrote;
The morning sunshine on the plants on the balcony;
the cozines summer and winter of the apartment
and the whole building; the thoughtfulnes of
management an office group and all employees
make Cambrian Center a pleasant and comfortable place to live.
